PAFED (Parents for
Education) was conceptualized in 1998 and incorporated in the year 2000.
It is a personal initiative of parents and educators to operate schools
and other educational projects which assist parents in their task as
primary educators of their children.
The founders of
PAFED have introduced into Singapore a personalized system of education
implemented in all schools sharing PAFED’s philosophy and mission
throughout the world.
This system of
education was developed in Europe in the 1950s when parents were
encouraged by Saint Josemaria Escriva, Founder of Opus Dei, to exercise
greater responsibility in the education of their children. There are now
more than a hundred and fifty such schools, the fruit of personal
initiative, in operation on the five continents. PAFED maintains
professional contact with these schools.
PAFED founded
Cherrybrook Kindergarten, its first project, in 2001 which enrolls
children from 2 ½ years old to 6 years old.
PAFED, fulfilling
its commitment to help parents be better educators, also organizes
courses in effective parenting through Family Enrichment Society.
