Parent
Involvement
|
|
Cherrybrook is a
close, mutually supportive community of parents, teachers, tutors,
administrative staff and students. As in any community, we grow
stronger and become more effective when we all:
 | Share the same values, vision, and goals; |
 | Understand each other’s roles and responsibilities; |
 | Commit ourselves to the best of our abilities to
fulfill our responsibilities; |
 | Respect and support each other and resolve each
other’s differences with charity and good will. |
Parent and School
Functions are the means by which we are able to demonstrate this
spirit and contribute towards building it. Our objectives are:
 | To make visible and alive the spirit and educational
philosophy of the School; |
 | To enable parents to observe and influence their
child’s personality through participation in their
activities; |
 | To forge closer ties within families and friendships
among families; |
 | To provide parents opportunities for their own growth,
both personally and professionally; |
 | To provide fun and enjoyment. |
We are
working towards parents playing a major role in organizing a
variety of school activities and projects. Their presence is
strong evidence of their commitment to their children’s
education and to the mission of the School. Some of these
activities and projects include:
 | Parents Formation |
 | Reading Program |
 | Family Day and Dinner and Dance |
 | Fund Development Projects |
 | School Development Projects |
The School’s key
emphasis, however, is on the parents’ task as educators in their
homes. See section on How
Parents Contribute To The Success of Their Child’s Cherrybrook
Education.
