Our Approach

Preparing children for excellence in school life and beyond

We adopt the whole child approach, providing a comprehensive and balanced programme that develops all aspects of a child's growth. We empower primary schoolers in reaching their full potential, developing curiosity, confidence, resilience and adaptability as a preparation for excelling in life, beyond the schooling years. We cultivate well-rounded individuals who are ready to contribute to their communities and shape a better future.

Our Programme

Our curriculum is intentionally designed around four key pillars, in line with the 21st Century Competencies needed to prepare your child for the future, as outlined by MOE.

Explore and Innovate

Our S.T.E.A.M-based activities are planned in a way that spark excitement, curiosity, and encourage exploration and self-expression. We go outdoors to explore the natural world and understand scientific concepts, learn to use technology effectively and responsibly, and apply mathematical principles to solve practical challenges. Art sessions are integrated into lessons in science, culture, history and more, to expand horizons and encourage imagination and creative expression.

We foster passion, wonder and inquiry through Genius Hour, letting our students dive deep into their interests through special projects. We guide them in pondering about areas of interests, teach research methods to find good information, and introduce tips on public speaking for the sharing of their completed works. More than that, letting them embark on independent projects allows them to explore their curiosities beyond school-taught topics, and determine whether they can count them as passions.

Character and Connection

While we weave character formation into every part of our programme, we have dedicated sessions that focus on virtues and building cross-cultural literacy.

At the heart of Circle Time is our virtues education. We guide reflections on the virtues and discuss how they can be applied to everyday life. Children also learn to set goals and create action plans for self improvement. We equip children with skills they need to build healthy relationships, manage their emotions, resolve conflicts respectfully and collaborate with peers.

Through the Explorers' ClubYoung Philosophers segment, we develop reasoning, critical thinking, curiosity, and empathy. These are what we aim to cultivate through learning about society and the world, exploring big questions, different cultures, and tackling big issues. Individual and group reflection provide opportunities for children to share and discuss their opinions.

Academic and Life Skills

We teach our children excellence and set them up for success in life, long after graduation.

We provide robust academic support during Homework, Revision, and Subject Coaching time. We are here to support your child in completing each piece of homework well and strive for academic excellence. We are committed to fostering a healthy attitude towards learning and setbacks, to cultivating good study habits, and practising other skills like problem-solving.

Our weekly Book Club aims to foster a lifelong appreciation for literature. Students read thoughtfully curated books together, delving into diverse topics, analysing story elements, and sharing their unique perspectives. This enhances reading comprehension, communication skills, and empathy.

Our Life Skills activities form the building blocks for a confident and successful future. From exciting culinary adventures, to practical skills like repairing and sewing, or more routine ones that teach responsibility for one's environment, we impart skills that give children purpose and last a lifetime. â€‹

Active Body, Healthy Mind

Physical well-being is essential for learning. Here, our students get their minds and bodies ready through engaging Movement and Sports activities that promote physical fitness, healthy habits, and overall well-being. These activities encourage social interaction and the practice of virtues. It also aims to strengthen ability to do daily tasks (writing, hand-eye coordination, etc) for our younger learners.

The Study has been so much more than an after-school care for our child. The teachers go above and beyond to ensure that the children are meaningfully engaged and well-supported in their learning. This goes beyond academics, and includes activities like cooking (!), STEAM, group discussions on philosophical topics / current affairs, nature walks, excursions, and even visits by special guests so the children can learn about different occupations and issues. The children also receive development support on an individual basis, with a mentor who follows their growth. It has reached a point where our child enjoys going to The Study more than school. We are so thankful and blessed to have our child in the care of the amazing teachers at The Study.

The Study has been a godsend for our family, offering a safe, trusted and nurturing space for my child. She receives personalised guidance, explores interests beyond typical curriculum, and develops physically through indoor and outdoor play. What truly sets them apart is their intentional focus on virtues and character formation. Time in The Study is my child's favourite part of the week!

A safe and welcoming space, and filled with caring teachers, mentors. The Study cares for the whole child and we appreciate the variety of activities and resources provided here. Truly an enjoyable after school time spent with friends for our child!

Thankful to have found The Study after visiting several student care centres.

Its focus on virtues and character building is a plus.

My children enjoy going to the Study - many activities that include opportunities to learn cooking, drawing and have discussions of many life topics.
